Reflection 6

On March 29th we learned on the topic TPACK module integration. TPACK is a framework that describes the kinds of knowledge required by the teachers for the successful integration of technology in teaching and learning. TPACK stands for technological, pedagogical and content knowledge. Content knowledge describes the teacher’s knowledge about subject matter. Teacher should have good background knowledge about what they are going to teach including ideas, theories or concepts of the particular subject. Pedagogical knowledge refers to the art and practice of teaching and learning of the teacher. It is teacher’s knowledge on the method of teaching and learning. It mainly focuses on how teacher deliver the information to the students correctly. Technological knowledge refers to teacher’s understanding of technological tools and how they are going to use those tools in teaching and learning classroom. While teaching, teacher should know the uses of technology for better learning environment for the students. They should also use the technological tool according to the lesson planned and learn how to use those technological tools. Therefore as a teacher we should be able to integrate the TPACK model in teaching and learning environment.
